NetNewsWire 7.1.2

Original release notes

Changes since 7.1.1:

  • Fixed bug where code inside a quoted attribute value (such as a srcset media query containing >=) could appear in place of the article summary in the timeline
  • Fixed bug where a title containing a "<" that didn't begin an HTML tag was truncated
  • Made <abbr> and other attributed title tags - including tags with uppercase letters - render as text instead of raw markup (in article titles)
  • Fixed bug where zero-width joiner entities (&zwj; and &zwnj;) weren't decoded
  • Fixed bug where iframes (such as Apple Podcasts embeds) with a unit in the height attribute were sized incorrectly
  • Prevented article web content from navigating away, via JavaScript, to a full webpage in the detail view
  • Made the reader view toolbar button the right size by switching to an SF Symbol
  • Fixed bug where the Next Unread button was enabled when the only unread article was the one already selected
  • Fixed bug where scrollbars set to always show would disappear during live resize
  • Kept the article's left edge stable when a scrollbar appears or disappears
  • Fixed bug where Reader API accounts (like FreshRSS) could stop syncing - authentication tokens are now refreshed as needed, and a refresh continues even when sending article statuses fails
  • Stopped waiting for an initial refresh to finish before closing the add-account sheet - the account appears right away
  • Restored human-readable CloudKit error messages
  • Used a WebKit user-agent string (with NetNewsWire as the app name) for web content shown in the app
  • Made updating unread counts for folders more efficient - coalesce calculations instead of once per feed
  • Fixed bug where arrowing up to the top of the timeline left the top article half hidden under the toolbar - and the similar bug where arrowing down could overshoot the last article
  • Fixed bug where subscribing in a Feedly account using a home page URL sometimes failed to find the feed - when Feedly search comes up empty, the app now finds the feed itself and tries again
  • Fixed double border around the accounts list in the Accounts pane of Settings
